FREE Drop-In Workshop
Have you wondered if taking an improv class would be the right move but not sure if it's worth a damn or you're worth a damn? Why not take this FREE WORKSHOP and then decide afterward!
The
workshop is first come, first served, but if we fill up, we can allow
others to observe from the audience too. (Also free parking in the MUD
lots after 5:30pm.)
----------
Free parking available 1/2 a block away at 17th and Harney after 5:30pm. Parking also available on the street (metered until 9pm).Open Mic (Standup)**
The Backline hosts an Open Mic for standup every Tuesday at 9pm. Each comedian will be allowed 4 minutes, and names will be drawn from a hat for those who show up before 9pm, people who show up after will be added at the end. Whether it's your first time or you perform weekly, why not try out your material in front of a great crowd at one of the best standup venues in town?
The 1st 20 names put into the hat will be pulled at random until all 20 have gone and each will receive the full 4 minutes, after them you will go up in the order you submitted and possibly lose 1-2 minutes depending on overall turnout. Since names are pulled at random, comics are encouraged to sit and watch everyone else, creating a fun and encouraging audience. 5 seconds of grace period before music plays you off. Prepare accordingly.
The show rotates hosts each week (Andrew Morton, Carmela Anderson, Stephanie Finklea)
This show is FREE for everyone!
